  • I am really honoured to be a trustee for a charity with such an incredibly important cause. I grew up locally and attended The Cotswold School and am now a headteacher in a local primary school and have been there for nearly 6 years. I am acutely aware of the difficulties facing families in our locality, impacted particularly by the isolation of living in our beautiful, rural surroundings.

I joined Headspace as a trustee in April and bring with me a deep commitment to supporting young people’s mental health, particularly in our rurally isolated communities. As a local resident and headteacher, I see firsthand how vital safe, supportive spaces like Headspace are for young people navigating emotional challenges.

With professional experience in safeguarding and marketing, I aim to help the charity reach as many young people as possible and ensure it continues to deliver on its mission — empowering young people to understand their emotions and build trusting relationships in a welcoming environment.

I’m proud to be part of a team that’s making a real difference to the wellbeing and happiness of the next generation.

  • Trustee

  • Leadership Team & Trustee

I have had a long a varied career including practising as a family solicitor, management of national transport contracts and community transport services.  I have spent the last 10 years managing operations in charitable organisations, specifically club-based activities. I have learnt so much about managing people with integrity, compassion and respect.

I now have a passion for supporting local community with a particular interest, arising from personal experience, in helping those suffering from family crisis. This work has included direct support to families dealing with the devastation resulting from family breakdown, dementia and mental health issues, helping them to find support with carer respite, befriending and accessing services and funding available to them.  I have many years’ experience of working in the charitable sector in Gloucestershire and continue to use my experience through my volunteering roles.

  • Gareth grew up in the Cotswolds attending Westwoods Grammar School before escaping and spending 30 years in the travel industry based all around the country. He returned to the Cotswolds ten years ago to run a Property Management company which he still does on a small part-time basis.

Gareth has been a school governor and on various committees, he is very keen on supporting the local community.

He feels it is very important to help young people and families through the most formative times of their lives and to make sure they are ready and equipped to deal with the many challenges that lie ahead. Gareth hopes by joining Headspace he can help the excellent team achieve this aim.
