A safe space to be

Headspace is a safe space for young people struggling to cope with life’s ups and downs, to be valued and heard.

Who we are

We empower young people to understand their feelings and emotions more confidently.

Headspace is a registered charity providing support to young people to express their worries and concerns.

What we offer

Counselling

Counselling.

Counselling is a confidential safe space for a young person to discuss their worries and concerns with a trained professional counsellor. They are given the opportunities to explore their thoughts and feelings free from fear of being judged. They are encouraged to find their own solutions to their problems through guidance from the counsellor.

Counselling is not a quick fix and takes time. It is not suitable for everyone and can be painful at times. Self-care is promoted during sessions to help with this.

Connections.

Headspace makes professional links with other services to help improve young people’s mental health.

mindfulness

Wellbeing.

Counselling isn’t suitable for everyone. Headspace provides access to wellbeing activities which promote emotional wellbeing.

parent support

Parent support groups.

Being a parent is hard especially if the young person you care for is having a tough time. It can be difficult for parents to understand and associate with how their child is feeling, causing their own worries and concerns. Parental support groups bring parents together in a safe and confidential space to share experiences, feelings and ways of coping.

“It’s a safe environment to talk to someone with an outside perspective. The Counsellor tries to understand my point of view by putting themselves in my shoes”

— C, Yr 9
