Stronger Minds, Brighter Futures: Headspace’s First Half of 2025
Supporting Youth Mental Health in the North Cotswolds – January to June 2025
Headspace has released its six-month impact update, highlighting the growing need for youth mental health support across the North Cotswolds — and the difference the charity is making every day.
With 54 young people currently receiving help and another 42 on the waiting list, demand for Headspace’s services is at an all-time high. Long NHS waiting times, the ongoing impact of the pandemic, academic pressures, and rural isolation are all contributing to increased mental health challenges among local young people.
Our Four Core Services
Counselling – Over 400 hours of professional 1:1 support delivered this academic year, helping young people develop coping strategies and resilience.
Wellbeing Sessions – 148 sessions (296 hours) in activities like bushcraft, cooking, gardening, crafts, and mindfulness, supporting 55 young people.
Mentoring – Our new community mentoring programme, launched in late 2024, has already provided 52 hours of personalised guidance and encouragement, with plans to expand from September 2025.
Signposting – Ensuring every young person gets the right help at the right time, even if it means connecting them to other organisations.
Powered by Our Community
Headspace receives no statutory funding, relying entirely on community donations, grants, and partnerships. Local businesses, sports clubs, and charitable trusts continue to provide vital backing, ensuring every pound raised goes directly to supporting young people.
Looking Ahead
In the next six months, Headspace aims to:
Secure sustainable long-term funding
Train and retain more high-quality mentors
Expand wellbeing and mentoring programmes
Continue responding to the evolving needs of local young people
“Headspace is more than a charity — it is a lifeline for young people and families across the North Cotswolds.”
— Kathryn Pulham, Chair of Trustees
