We all have mental health.

Some of us have good mental health and some of us have struggles.

At Headspace we think of mental health as a sliding scale or spectrum. Some of us are at the healthy end. Some of us are at the unhealthy end. Others are somewhere in between.

Where we are on this scale depends on a range of factors. These can include traumatic events, childhood experiences, relationships at home, with friends or at school. Sometimes there isn’t a reason. It’s just how we feel at that particular time and we don’t always know why or what to do about it. At any time we can move to one end of the scale and with the right help we can all move closer to the healthy end.

Headspace is here to help young people to cope with the struggles of daily life, to empower them to understand their mental health with coping strategies to go on and lead enriched lives.

Wherever we are on the mental health scale, we can learn to understand ourselves, what we need and ways to cope better with what life throws at us.

Our progress so far.

Headspace has been funding fifteen hours of counselling per week for children who attend The Cotswold School since January 2020. We have strong ties with school and together we can make a real difference to young people struggling to cope.

Our vision is to expand this provision to serve more young people in the North Cotswolds and develop the type of services we can offer. We are currently building a team of amazing people to help us achieve this.

Headspace achieved Charity Commission status in June 2020. We have ambitious plans for the next 3 years and we’re so excited to bring these to our local communities.
