Commissioned Services

Headspace is listed in the Gloucestershire County Council Alternative Provision, Activities and Support Services Catalogue (2025–26) and can be commissioned directly by schools, parents and local authority teams.

Our aim is to ensure every young person has access to the emotional, social and wellbeing support they need to thrive.

We deliver wellbeing sessions, 1:1 mentoring, counselling and alternative provision, supporting young people who are struggling in due to:

  • Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs

  • Anxiety and low mood

  • Low confidence or communication difficulties

  • Poor attendance or school avoidance

  • Risk of exclusion or disengagement from learning

Our commissioned alternative provision pathway

Headspace provides Gloucestershire schools with a trauma-informed alternative provision pathway, including:

  • A 1:1 mentoring programme integrated with tuition

  • Weekly wellbeing sessions (group)

  • Outdoor learning and environmental wellbeing activities

  • Reintegration support to help young people return to learning

All programmes are fully bespoke, with the mix of mentoring, tuition, counselling and wellbeing support determined by the individual needs of the young person. Detailed progress updates and reintegration planning are provided to commissioning schools.

Neurodiversity-informed practice

  • Support with emotional regulation and executive functioning

  • Creating predictable, safe and emotionally supportive environments

We work closely with schools, families and professionals to ensure support aligns with EHCPs, IEPs and wider support plans where appropriate.
