Supporting Young People: EBSA Pilot Funded by North Cotswolds Rotary

Rotary Funds EBSA Pilot Programme at Unit 7

We are incredibly grateful to the North Cotswolds Rotary Club for their generous support of our new Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) Pilot Scheme.

Thanks to their funding, we have been able to launch this much-needed early intervention pilot programme for young people across the North Cotswolds who are struggling to attend school due to anxiety.

Sessions Now Underway in Our New Unit 7 Space

We’re pleased to share that sessions for this pilot scheme have now successfully started and are already making a positive impact.

Delivered from our new Unit 7 space in Bourton-on-the-Water, the programme provides a calm, welcoming environment where young people can begin to rebuild their confidence around learning and school attendance.

Each weekly session offers:

  • A safe, non-judgemental space outside of school

  • Support with anxiety management and emotional regulation

  • Opportunities to build confidence and peer connections

  • Structured learning activities to gently reintroduce engagement

  • Individual support through breakout spaces

Running Throughout Term 5

The pilot programme will continue to run throughout Term 5, supporting a cohort of local young people over a structured series of sessions.

Early feedback has been extremely encouraging, with young people already beginning to:

  • Feel less isolated

  • Develop practical coping strategies

  • Re-engage with structured learning

  • Take positive steps towards returning to school

Making a Lasting Difference

Emotionally Based School Avoidance is a growing challenge locally, and early intervention is critical. This pilot scheme will allow us to demonstrate impact and build a strong case for future delivery.

We are proud to be delivering this work within the community and thankful to North Cotswolds Rotary Club for helping make it possible.

Their support is already making a real and lasting difference to young people and families across the North Cotswolds.
