Headspace CEO Paul Heming Talks to BBC Gloucestershire About Youth Mental Health
Our CEO, Paul Heming, recently spoke with Nicky Price on BBC Radio Gloucestershire about the vital work Headspace is doing to support young people’s mental health across the North Cotswolds.
In the interview, Paul discussed the increasing pressures facing young people today — from anxiety and social isolation to the impact of social media and academic stress — and how Headspace is helping them build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
“We’re seeing more young people struggling with low self-esteem and anxiety,” Paul explained. “At Headspace, our aim is to make sure every young person in the North Cotswolds can access the support they need to cope with life’s challenges and grow into adulthood with strong coping strategies.”
Paul also highlighted the charity’s counselling, mentoring, and wellbeing sessions, as well as new outdoor wellbeing projects designed to bring nature-based support to local young people.
Headspace would like to thank Nicky Price and the BBC Gloucestershire team for helping to raise awareness of the importance of youth mental health and the work happening right here in our community.
